Signature Projects

GURUVANDANAM is the teacher recognition programme of the Rotary Club of Chidambaram Central. The programme is devoted to recognizing great teachers on the National Teachers Day (September 05) or the International Teachers Day (October 05). The programme was started during 2013-14 where 150 teachers were felicitated in a grand ceremony. In the next year, the programme was held in a school where the awardees (teachers) were primarily of the same school. Rtn.Arun Kumar will be the Chairman of Guruvandanam.

BUILD THE BUILDERS is a three day vocational training programme offered to under graduate civil engineering students to enhance their practical knowledge. The training is offered at our Vocational Training Centre at M/s Godwin Constructions, Chidambaram. A batch of six to eight civil engineering students from an engineering college are selected for practical training over a period of three days. The students are taught a very important aspect for upcoming engineers namely reading building plans and deducing field errors. The training programme is offered by a group of qualified engineers under the leadership of Rtn.Godwin. On successful completion of the training programme, certification is provided to the participants. This training was started in the year 2012-13 and so far 64 students in 10 batches have undergone training under this programme. Rtn.Godwin Maria Visuvasam is the Chairman of the programme.

• Rtn. MPHF. M. Deepak Kumar was the Charter Secretary of our Club
  
• Rtn. R. Paneer Selvam was the Treasurer od our Club 

“The Club Chartered with 28 Members in 2017 and made our club as 100% TRFcontributed club by our charter president in the first year itself. Within the span of two months, our club has bagged 15 awards by the District in the AWARDS NITE”

• Rtn. MPHF. M. Deepak Kumar was the president in the year 2018 – 19 and with every second, he ensured that the club was second to none.
  
• Rtn. Natarajan was the secretary of our club and supports a lot for the elevation of our club.
  
• Rtn. G. Sunil Kumar Bothra was the Treasurer of our Club

“382 projects were carried out in the year and received Platinum President Citation Award and also bagged 31 awards from the District during AWARDS NITE. With the support of District Grant, Smart Class was set up in Sivapuri Middle School and Six Sewing Machines were donated to under privileged ladies on vocational service. 13 Medical campus were conducted in this year”

• Rtn. G. Seenuvasan was the President for the year 2020 – 21 and he ensured that our club was at the forefront as we had fabulous four years.
  
• Rtn. P. Rajasekaran was the Secretary of our club and he is very enthusiastic on nurturing the growth of our club
  
• Rtn. Dr. V. Nadanasabapathy was the Treasurer.

“Air-Condition facility was made to GH for the beneficiary of the maternal women and also Pregnancy beds were given with the contribution of our Charter President Rtn. P. Mohamad Yaseen with the cost of Rs. 1.5 Lakhs. HM Room was renovated at Govt. Nandanar Girls Hr. Sec. School. In view of improving the livelihood of the rural women, Goats were donated to their families. 24 awards were bagged by our club during the AWARDS NITE of our District”

• Rtn. Dr. V. Nadanasabapathy was the President of our Club for the Year 2023 – 24 and he silently set up some reforms and brought in some project ideas that keep our club flag flying high.
  
• Rtn. Dr. G. Arumugam was the Secretary of our Club and energetically driven our club to various heights.
  
• Rtn. R. Arul was the Treasurer for the Club.

“180 Doctors were awarded and appreciated for their selfless service in the Doctors Day Function. Supported Open Heart Surgery to One Patient. With the support of our Rtn. N. Kesavan, Medicines and Medical equipment’s were donated to RMMCH, Chidambaram. High focus was given to Literacy and Hygiene projects and executed the WASH in SCHOOLS project in a massive level. Pre-casted benches were enacted in GH, RMMCH and with cost of Rs. 2 Lakhs Kumaran Kulam was adopted and setting up Rotary Park with the support of Rtn. N. Kesavan, Rtn. M. Deepak Kumar and Rtn. Dr. V.Nadanasabapathy in association with Misrimal and Mahaveer Chand Trust”

• Rtn. PHF. V. Harikrishnan, a seasoned Educationist is the President of our Club for the year 2025 – 26 and ensured that our club evolved with the changing times, settled down in its systems and policies and grew in membership activities.
  
• Rtn. K. Pughalendi, is the Secretary of our club and very enthusiastic in driving the club in various activities.
  
• Rtn. N. Govindaran is the Treasurer of our Club.
